Fake an Egg Best Pets: Tier List by Steal Value
Fake an Egg tier list ranked by cash, steal value and availability. See the best early pet, the best Mythic to farm, and which pets are worth stealing.
A Fake an Egg tier list is not the same as a shopping list. The best pet to own is the one that pays you every second. The best pet to steal is the one you can carry out of a stranger's pen without getting hit. Those are often different animals.
This list ranks pets by what they do for your account on October 26, 2026: income, how hard they are to obtain, and how much they are worth as a steal target. Where a number comes from a player recording rather than the game, it is labelled.

How the tiers work
- S — changes your income the moment it lands in your pen.
- A — strong enough to build a mid-game account around.
- B — good value for their egg price, replaceable later.
- C — fine while you are filling slots, not worth a dangerous steal.
- D — starter pets and fusion material.
Rarity is only one input. A Legendary with a bad income roll loses to a Mythic with a good mutation, and a $250,000 Epic you can hatch repeatedly often beats a $23 million Mythic you cannot afford to lose.
The tier list
| Tier | Pets | Why they sit here |
|---|---|---|
| S | Celestial-tier pets (Cuca and other event/late-game names), Wyvern, Griffin | Highest reported incomes in the game; Wyvern and Griffin are the top permanent egg pets |
| A | Great Dane, Spinosaurus, T-Rex, Kraken, Kilin | Multi-million egg prices or Divine/Exotic rarity; end-game targets |
| B | Crocodile, Badger, Lion, Gorilla, Mammoth, Swordfish, Skeleton Dragon | Reliable mid-game income; obtainable without a team |
| C | Wolf, Capybara, Zebra, Llama, Goat, Hyena, Parrot | Cheap progression; good early, expendable later |
| D | Bunny, Cat, Dog, Cow, Chicken, Shark | Tutorial and first-hour pets; Shark is the best free option but falls off fast |
Celestial is the community label for the tier above Divine; the Halloween update added a new top rarity but the studio has not published a name we could verify. Kraken and Kilin appear in third-party trade listings as Divine and Exotic pets.
Best pet overall: Griffin (if you can hatch it)
The Griffin Egg costs about $23 million and sits at the top of the permanent egg list alongside the $110 million Wyvern. A player recording puts a Griffin at roughly $689,000 per second, which is the highest verified single-pet figure we found outside event pets.
That number comes from one recorded session, not an official stat sheet. Even so, the gap between a Griffin and a Great Dane is large enough that the ranking holds: if you can afford either, Griffin is the better long-term buy.
Wyvern is more expensive and rarer, but we did not find a reliable income recording for it. Treat "Wyvern is better than Griffin" as unproven until you see both in the same pen.
Best free pet: Shark
The Shark is not on the egg field. Like the game and join the Slime Time Studios group, then interact with the shark cage near the middle of the map. It costs nothing and outperforms every starter pet by a wide margin.
Use the Shark until you have a full pen of B-tier pets. Do not fusion it away early; replacing that income with a random common is a downgrade.
Best early purchases
| Stage | Pet to aim for | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| First pen | Bunny → Cat → Dog | Cheapest way to fill slots |
| First $1,000 | Goat, Llama | Noticeably better than commons |
| First $10,000 | Capybara, Wolf | Mid-tier income without a long save |
| First $100,000 | Badger, Crocodile | The last affordable eggs before the millions gap |
| First $7 million | T-Rex, Spinosaurus | End-game egg pets with real income |
The gap between Crocodile ($250,000) and T-Rex ($7.2 million) is where most accounts stall. Stealing is the intended way through it. Buy the best egg you can afford twice, not the best egg you can afford once.
Best pets to steal
Steal value is income divided by risk. A pet worth $500,000 per second that sits at the back of a crowded pen is a worse target than a $300,000 pet beside the exit.
Priority order when you get inside a pen:
- The highest-income pet within two steps of the exit. Grab and go.
- Any mutated pet. Gold, Diamond and Rainbow versions out-earn their plain copies, and owners often leave them out.
- A duplicate of your best pet. Two strong pets beat one slightly stronger pet.
- Nothing, if the owner is between you and the door. Leave and find another pen.
Do not judge by rarity alone. A Mythic with a bad mutation can pay less than a Legendary with a good one. The pet values page explains how to compare them without a spreadsheet.
Community income snapshots
These figures come from player recordings and trade listings collected on October 26, 2026. They are not official and they do not form a complete table. Use them to understand scale, not to settle an argument about the third decimal.
| Pet | Reported income | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| Bunny | about $3-4/s | Player recording |
| Diamond Bull | about $1,600/s | Player recording |
| Velociraptor | about $5,800/s | Player recording |
| Triceratops | about $15,000/s | Player recording |
| Diamond Kitsune | about $32,000/s | Player recording |
| Thunderstorm Gold Great Dane | about $389,000-428,000/s | Player recording |
| Griffin | about $689,000/s | Player recording |
| Kraken (Divine, Golden) | about 1,800,000/s | Trade listing |
| Cuca (Celestial) | about 2,500,000/s | Trade listing |
The jump from thousands to hundreds of thousands per second is why one good steal can beat an hour of hatching. It is also why owners guard those pets instead of leaving them by the pipe.
What to keep, fuse and sell
Keep: your highest-income pet, one mutated version of it, and anything that completes an Index entry.
Fuse: duplicates of D and C-tier pets once your pen is full. Three commons usually produce a better pet than three separate low earners.
Sell: plain duplicates whose income you have already replaced, and any pet that is taking a slot without beating your current weakest.
Do not sell a pet simply because it is common. A Rainbow Bunny can out-earn a plain Wolf, and the mutation is not visible in the egg list.
FAQ
What is the best pet in Fake an Egg? For permanent eggs, the Griffin has the strongest verified income at roughly $689,000 per second. Celestial-tier event pets and the Wyvern sit at or above it, but their numbers are less consistently documented.
What is the best pet for beginners? The free Shark, followed by Cat and Dog Eggs. The Bunny is only a starting point.
Is Wyvern better than Griffin? Unconfirmed. Wyvern costs far more ($110 million versus about $23 million), but we did not find a reliable side-by-side income test.
Should I steal a Griffin or a Great Dane? Take whichever is closer to the exit. The income difference does not matter if the owner catches you before the door.
Do mutations change tier? Yes. Gold, Diamond and Rainbow versions can move a pet up a tier, especially at the B and C level. Exact multipliers are unpublished.
Where do I find these pets? Egg pets come from the central field; see the full egg list. Event pets come from limited windows tracked on the Halloween page, and the map guide covers safe escape routes.
