Tame An Animal Dungeons: Bosses, Teams and Rewards
How Tame An Animal dungeons work: what to bring, how to split roles in a 12-player group, and the mistakes that turn a run into a wipe.
Dungeons are where Tame An Animal stops being a collection game and becomes a co-op fight. The official description gives them one line — conquer dungeons and earn rewards — and that is the entire public documentation. Everything else comes from playing.
This guide covers what the game confirms, how to prepare a group in a 12-player server, and the four mistakes that end most runs before the boss is even at half health.

What a dungeon is in this game
A dungeon is an instanced fight with a boss and a reward at the end. It sits in the middle of the progression loop, not at the side of it:
Fight wild animals → tame a team → clear a dungeon → earn gems and coins → tame better animals → clear a harder dungeon.
That loop explains why dungeons feel harder than the open world even at the same level. They are the checkpoint that tells you whether your team is actually built or just levelled.
The developer has not published dungeon names, entry costs, or a loot table. If a page lists "Dungeon 1, Dungeon 2, Dungeon 3" with exact costs, it is describing a different game or inventing one. What follows is the part you can verify in-game in a single session.
Before you enter
Five checks, in order. Skipping any of them is how a group loses ten minutes at the door.
- Full team, full roles. A team of damage dealers will out-damage the boss and still lose, because nobody absorbs the area attack.
- Fresh tames equipped. An animal still in storage cannot be summoned. Open the team menu and confirm each slot shows a creature, not an empty frame.
- Supplies bought. Whatever the game sells as healing or revive items, buy them before the queue, not inside the instance.
- One person knows the route. In a 12-player server, following a player who has cleared it is the fastest way to learn.
- Agree on a wipe rule. Either everyone revives or everyone restarts. Half-and-half is how a run dies slowly.
Roles in a 12-player group
Twelve is an unusual server size — big enough that role drift is invisible until the fight starts. Assign before you enter.
| Role | How many | Job |
|---|---|---|
| Bruiser | 2–3 | Hold the boss, eat the first area attack, keep it facing away from the group |
| Burst | 5–6 | Damage in the stagger window, reposition between attacks |
| Support / ranged | 2–3 | Keep pressure on, revive, call the next phase |
| Scout | 1 | Watch the boss, call telegraphs, manage the exit if the run fails |
The scout is the role nobody volunteers for and the one that saves the most runs. One player watching the boss instead of the health bar will spot the wind-up before it lands.
Reading the boss
You do not need a published move list to survive a fight. You need to recognise four patterns, which cover almost every Roblox boss:
The wind-up. A long animation with no damage. That is your cue to stop attacking and move. New players die because they keep clicking through it.
The area slam. A circle or line on the ground. Step out early; the visual usually lags the hitbox by a fraction of a second.
The summon or add phase. The boss stops attacking and smaller enemies appear. Kill the adds or they stack damage while you focus the boss.
The enrage timer. Damage output rises the longer the fight runs. If the group is surviving but not killing, the problem is damage, not healing.
Call each one out loud or in chat. A group that talks clears content a silent group of the same level cannot.
The four wipe mistakes
Everyone bringing damage. The most common failure in a 12-player server. Twelve damage dealers means the boss turns on whoever hit hardest, and that player is not built to take it.
Taming mid-run. Taming takes time and attention. Do it before the dungeon, never inside.
Fighting the boss away from the group. Some players pull the boss to the edge to "kite" it, which splits the group and doubles the area attack's reach. Keep it central.
Ignoring the exit. If the run is lost, leave. Dying repeatedly on a finished attempt costs the same supplies as a clear and gives nothing back.
Rewards and what to do with them
The official line is "amazing rewards", which is marketing rather than a loot table. In practice, dungeon rewards feed the same two currencies the store sells boosts for — coins and gems — plus whatever gear or animals the current build drops.
Three rules for spending them:
- Bank one run's worth before upgrading. Weekly updates can change prices, and a build that lands mid-week can leave you short.
- Upgrade the constraint, not the number. If your team dies, buy survivability. If the boss times out, buy damage.
- Do not chase the newest animal first. A new tame with no team around it is a storage slot, not an upgrade.
If you are short on currency before a run, the free codes are the cheapest boost available — see the codes page for the four the developer published and the four community codes that are still unconfirmed.
Solo, duo or full group
Solo is possible in the open world and usually not worth it in a dungeon. You lose the role split that makes a boss survivable.
Duo is the sweet spot for learning. One bruiser each, one support between you, and a shared rule about when to reset.
Full group is the fastest route to rewards but the slowest to organise. Join existing groups instead of forming one; in a 12-player server there is almost always a run filling.
After November 2
The CRYSTALCOVE + HALLOWEEN event ends on November 2, 2026, and dungeon rewards are usually where event currency lands. Spend event currency before the deadline — unspent event tokens are the one thing a weekly update will not carry forward.
The Halloween guide tracks the deadline and the event codes. The tier list explains which roles to bring, and the maps and mounts guide covers how to reach dungeon entrances that sit across water.
FAQ
How many dungeons are in Tame An Animal? Unconfirmed. The developer has not published a count, and a weekly update can add one. Count the entrances on your own map and note the date.
What level should I be for my first dungeon? There is no published requirement. The practical test is a full team that can survive a wild animal two zones above spawn without losing an animal.
Can you solo a dungeon? Technically yes, practically no. The role split matters more than raw damage, and one player cannot hold the boss and burst at the same time.
Do dungeons reset daily? Unknown. Most Roblox dungeon games use a daily or per-run cost. Check the entrance prompt for a timer before you plan a farming session.
What is the best reward from dungeons? Whatever fixes your weakest slot. If your team dies, survivability wins; if the boss times out, damage wins.
